Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) for UG Programme
01. Graduates will successfully engage themselves in practice of engineering or relevant fields; They will pursue wide-spectrum careers appropriately as technologists, innovators, consultants, managers & entrepreneurs and will advance in their profession.
02. Develop and deploy engineering/technological solutions using latest techniques & tools/CAD (TCAD, EDA, ICT etc.) imbibing concern for eco-system, and an attitude to serve society & humanity at large,
03. As appropriate to their professional or educational positions, graduates will
(i) Effectively communicate technical information to educate/persuade multiple audiences
(ii) Effectively contribute on multicultural/multidisciplinary teams, keeping abreast with emerging technology
04. Graduates will continue in education & life-long learning; e.g. higher education, professional development activities, and further career prospects.
05. Inculcate and inspire high ethical and technical standards.

Program Outcomes (POs) for UG Programme
Engineering Graduates will be able to:
01. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
02. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
03. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
04. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
05. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
06. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
07. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
08. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
09. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) for PG Programme
01. Postgraduates will continue perpetual learning for professional advancement in engineering, contribute new knowledge and apply innovatively in an appropriate context within the field as well as multi-disciplinary situations; imbibing concern for eco-system, and an attitude to serve society & humanity at large.
02. Postgraduates successfully engage themselves in practice of engineering with capability of assimilating undergraduate fundamentals as well as advanced knowledge to solve complex electronics & communication engineering problems.
(i) Possessing knowledge of advanced topics in two or more areas, having depth in at least one area, from within the field of electronics & communication engineering.
03. Postgraduates will have the ability to identify a significant research or development problem to undertake for their dissertation work and have capability to document the results in lucid and articulate form.
04. Inculcate and inspire higher ethical and technical standards.

01. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics and engineering.
02. An ability to design and conduct experiments
03. An ability to analyze and interpret data
04. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, health and safety
05. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems using advanced knowledge
06. An ability to identify, formulate at least a research/development problem & indicate/illustrate possible solution
07. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
08. An ability to communicate effectively in terms of publications and presentations
09. The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context
10. A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning
11. Knowledge of probability and statistics, including applications appropriate to the electrical engineering (Electronics, Communication)
12. A knowledge of contemporary issues an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) for ECE
01. An Ability to design and analyze different electronic circuits and systems.
02. An exposure to variety of programming languages and software’s.
03. An ability to understand and design different modules of communication systems.
