Shri Alok Kumar is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1990 batch. Holding a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Kanpur (1987), he further pursued an M.Tech. program, specializing in computational fluid dynamics, also at IIT Kanpur. He has extensive experience working in the State Government of Tripura and the Government of India across various sectors. His roles encompassed social sectors, security, and IT sectors. He served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and as Deputy Director General in the prestigious UID project initial and challenging phase. Notably, he played a key role in designing and scaling up India national rural sanitation program - Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC), as well as innovative incentive schemes. He authored a reference book on rural sanitation titled "Squatting with Dignity: Lessons from India" published by Sage Publications, New Delhi, in 2010. Presently, he serves as a Professor of Practice in the Department of Management Studies at MNIT Jaipur.
